Default Trailer Wires+Coachmen Clipper

Well since we got the tranny all situated and working great, we know have another question,

Now my folks have a 2001 Coachmen Clipper pop-up camper, and it has the 6 pole-rectangular connection, sorta like what is shown in picture 1. The dodge has a circular connection with 6 connections, that looks stock from the factory. The truck came with an adaptor for the 6 circular connection to a flat 4 connection. We wanna find something that can adapt from the 6 circular connection to the 6 pole rectangular connection, where can we find something like this? We have looked high and low, and have found nothing close.

One other thing, not to change subject, but isn't Jayco RV trailers, very much similar to Coachmen RV trailers, as far as pop-up campers? Cause I know Viking and Coachmen are pretty much the same thing, according to our owners manual.

Been trailering alot of years and never have seen that adapter. Did see a 6 sq. to 4 flat a long while ago. Why not just change the camper harness over to flat?

We could do that, although, becuase it is my parent's camper, they wanna keep it the way it is. Plus, yes the connection on the camper is a 6 square design, just looks rectangle by eye. Do you think an RV dealer would have something like this in stock (flat 4 to square 6)?

They might. You could also ADD the 4 flat to the 6 Sq. and it would have BOTH! Just splice it in if meets folks approval. I have a setup like that in the trunk of my other car so I can tow either my camper or my utility trailer. Same thing, just different end.

I like that idea of having a second connection on the trailer. It is easy sounding to install and I have approval from the parents to go ahead with the mod. Great thinking Wayne!!

Glad I could help. Sometimes an extra set of eyes or brains on a problem is just the ticket! That's what makes these forums so great.
