Default 2500 8L/V10 Pulling 5th Wheel

Hello! Condsidering upgrading my 5th wheel trailer to a larger. My 25008L V10 with 3.55 is rated to tow 13,500#, and my trailer is about 10,500...11,500 loaded. I would mostly tow for short trips (i.e. 150 miles or less), and we are in Florida, where it is flat.

My concern: The pin weight on this potential new 5th wheel is on the order of 2,170#. I am concerned this will be too much for my truck (all specs below). Opinions?

On your door panel there'll be listed 3 ratings, one of which is GAWR. This is your gross axle weight rear, the most the rear end is allowed to weigh, basically. to get a good idea of what that'll be, go to a scale, weigh the rear , and add that to your pin weight....won't be bang on 'cause the pin is uusally ahead of the rear axle and weight transfer, but it'll be close. Make sure you're not going to be above your GVWR (amount the truck is allowed to weigh, although you shouldn't be if you don't have the truck all loaded up with stuff) and your GCWR. put a tranny cooler on that unit!

just looked up your axle, should be the same as your truck, 6500 lbs...you should be fine.
