ok well i let my mom drive my truck today...BIG MISTAKE...she calls me and tells me it wont start..so i go give ehr a jump..she gets home i hope in it and it wont start again..so im thinkin ok the alternator went..so i jumped it one more time and it started but idles real high now..about 2500 RPPMS..and when you atart it a puff of blue smoke comes out only when you start it..or you press on the gas a little bit..any ideas??

 

sounds like you might have a plenum leak thats causing the smoke, is it using oil? as far as the high idle. it will do that if you jump it too quick and dont give the pcm a second to get enough power. try diconnecting the ground for a few mins and it will go away


also id check your battery before the alternator

 

well that fixed the idle issue...as i drove it around the block..i stopped at a light and i noticed i was smokin alot...but as i drove more i noticed it stopped..when i parked it i stepped on the gas to see if any smoke came out and i didnt see any....
