I took my cup holder off the get to the cig lighter wire, but when I put it and the dash all back together the cup holder wouldn't open. Is there a specific way to put it back together?

 

make sure that the 2 tabs on the underside of the cup holder are in place. I did this on mine and I didnt get the tabs in. It had the same problem about opening.

 

I have one thing to say about the factory cupholder- FTPOS. After I bought my truck, I f'ed with that thing and f'ed with that thing. Finally, I saw a post on here by shott about a thing called (IIRC) a smoothy cup holder that fits on the end of the armrest. I boughtit andconsider it a valuble mod.I now use that factory pos to mount stuff on ( cb/phone/pcm scanner setup). I will try to find the link and post back.

Cool, I'm gonna have to check that out a little more. Offroad, when you said to get the tabs in place, do they go behind the part thy screw to?

 

Have you got pics of both your new cup holder and how you modded the old area?
