need some assistance !!!!
hey guys im new to this site plus i just puchase a 1997 dodge ram pickup 5.9L 4x4 p/u and i just love it. It has a 6inch suspension lift with a 3inch body lift and 39.5 iroks and with a front an rear 4.88 gears. I do have a couple of questions i hope somebody can help me with. Im not 100% formalier with my dodge but what is d/d means plus i bought the truck and is there a automatic front locking hubs or what when u put it in 4x4 i dunno im new to the whole rams
i'd guess dd or d/d stands for daily driver, as in what you have to drive to work and back every day and it needs to be dependable. your drivers side axle is solid from differential to wheel. the passenger side is a 2 piece axle, and if stock, has a vacuum operated cad (central axle disconnect). the most common aftermarket options is a cable system from posi-lok. if everything is working right, you simply shift the lever in the floorboard and you get both 4wd transfer case shift, and axle lock.
