Default Cam time or M1? help me out here.

Well, my truck is in the shop finishing up the exhaust project (very cool if I do sayso myself, which I do). So that leads me to my next project. I believe a cam or M1 would be a nice addition to the intake/exhaust work done so far. The M1 is slightly pricey, and will obviously help to maximise my gains ontop of the tb and aircleaner, especially with the exhaust, though I believe even at this point I could benifite greatly from a more agressive cam. Either way the other one will probabilly be the next mod unless something comes up. The cam (id assume) would be the cheeper of the two by a pritty big margin. I also hope that will help out the breathing on the top, especially where its flat from 60 on up. Both will help in about the same aspect, but weighing all things against one another, the cam seems like it would be the best bang for the buck at this point, you think?

also, what would be a good cam to make gains (or at least without hurting performance) on my stock heads, but still be agressive enough to work well with the edelbrock 2.02 heads? Or should I just save the cam to match with the new heads when I get them and get an M1.

This is the cam everyone says they like. Are all the mods in that list a MUST have, or a recomended? (I could throw everyone for a loss and go with an M1 with a nitrous plate and a 75 shot.....)KRC 210X210/220-512/512 110 Hot street/strip cam for the 318/360. 2600-6000 rpm powerband. Requires Mopar PCM, valvesprings, hot ignition system, gears and stall converter. 13 second/ 300 rear wheel (2.02 R/T ported heads, M-1 2bbl, 52 CNC TB, PPH Headers, Mopar PCM) cam that works for non supercharged trucks or occasional nitrous motors. Much stronger torque powerband over the KRC 210 or Comp 604. Runs incredible installed at 106 degrees. Pulls 12" of vacuum for brakes and vents.

If you put a new cam in, you will most likely have to reflash your ECU.

I am under the understanding that all you have to do is reset your pcm

You'll probably want to get your pcm flashed with the 210x. It will run great with the m1 flash. I would do both the m1 and the cam. If you don't have the cash for both, either save up or buy one keep it until you buy the other. You will save alot of money this way (gaskets, oil, coolant, etc.), andyou know you'll eventually do both anyway. Did you ever get the tranny swap done?

Yea, thats the most feasable and sensable option, to do them at the same time. Always looking for the immediate gratification .
The trans swap isnt anywhere near completion, I am having the hardest time finding the parts I need. The T56 that I was going to buy was cracked down the center on the bottom side (which I didnt see before I went to get it) soooo Its back to square one. Im going to mod the engine untill I reach the point where Im going to worry about the trans being able to hold up to the power, and then strike at the swap project again. In the meantime, anyone that has 5spd parts that I can use in the swap, please let me know, Im still going to gather the parts when I can.

Have you considered a new intake manifold?
