2000 power
Hi all, new to this forum. I have a 2000 quad cab, 4+4, 5.2l, cold air, high flow exaust, throtle body spacer( a paper weight as some here refer to) and she is 6600lbs I have to shove her to the floor to get her to move, it won't spin a tire. My neibour has an 1998 reg cab, 4+4, 5.2l stock everything at 6400lbs and if you use half the throtle she will smoke the rear tires off the rims. It is only 200lbs lighter than mine, same sixe tires 265/75.16. My truck is two years newer and his will pull away from me at any speed with ease. So what gives, why is mine so low on power???

So lets see her [8D]
1500 4x4s start at about5000lb curb weight, the QC option will add about 200-250lbs. Think you have payload confused with your curb weight.
V10 4x4s start at about 6000lb (6050lbs for mine empty on scales)
CTD 4x4s start at about 6600lb
Death flash (costs about 20hp in lost power)is done to later model years to eliminate ping. A flashed pcm (on pass. side firewall) will have a sticker with a date stating when it was flashed and should have a ref. #. If yours has the sticker, chances are you have the DF.
To fix it of course will cost money.
B&G flash will give back all the lost power and a lot more as well as eliminate top speed and rpm limiters
MP PCM will not give as much power and also eliminates top speed/rpm limiters.
Both B&G and MP PCM require premium.
Superchips and Hypertech will add the least amount of power but allow you to run 2 different tunes. One for regular and one for premium. Can also fix speedo errors on later models years.
