do a search on dodge trannys, they are junk, you're not the first nor the last to have a dodge tranny grenade. as for whats to be done time for a new tranny, or a rebuild more then likely.

If a new trans is needed should I put a dodge one back in if they're crap? Do I have other options?
Regards

What do you mean by stuck? When you put it in Drive, does it go through 1st and 2nd?

Once in my 96 Ram, when I put it in drive, all I had was 3rd gear. It wouldn't shift up or down, just had 3rd and reverse. Turned out it was a transmission shift relay. Just in case you're problem is similar.

There are pages and pages of tranny issues on here just do a search for it. Will give you things to check before doing anything major.

had similar problems but i could get 2nd when manually shifted, not first. do you have a check engine up, mine was gov pressure too high (just rebuilt it myself, working out the kinks i guess....) reset the computer hasn't come up again, not saying this is your problem but if you hav ea light up definitely look into that
