I had a check engine on my truck and did what Fox said. They'll hook up a computer to it then give you the part number needed to fix it. Mine turned out to be either a gas line leak or it needed a new gas cap. Ended up costing me 6 bucks for a gas cap and no time. Hope you have the same luck.

Make sure your gas cap is on tight. My CEL came on one day. I took it to a mechanic, he hooked it up to his machine, opened the gas door, tightened the gas cap, handed me my keys back and said "Have a great day."

thanks guys, but what you said wasnt the problem, the hose that goes on top of the engine where the thermostat sits in, and turned out to be the thermostat itself, replaced it with new gasket and solved the problem, thanks guys.
