yes. it indicates lack of communication between the PCM, BCM, CTM, sensors, etc. i got it once when i forgot to put the grounds back on the power steering bracket. it can also be caused by blown/missing fuses, bad grounds under dash at drivers door, and other places. do a seach on "no bus". there are a lot of threads with ideas and some successes. it can also be the pcm itself.
i'm going to check all my grounds but i don't think iot could be a wire on my fuel pump because i changed both 5 monuths ago and the no bus just appeared
I just fininshed dealing with a NO BUS nightmare on my Ram. Turns out the PCM was shorting on the inside. it would die on me at random times and seemed to be heat related. Had it rebuilt by ECU Direct and it is good to go.
i changed the vss because i was reading everything i could here on dodge forum and i also had my abs light and airbag light on. someone else had those lights on also but not the no bus code that i know of. i looked at autozone and the part was only $18 and a pcm is about $250 from what my computer guy told me so i figured i'll try the cheapest first and if that didn't work then the pcm was next.
I have 2000 Quad 1500 and I had no bus and all the guages were not working. Under your hood pull off the top lid for the fuse panel. Youhave a square wiring harness called engine inline with a phillips screw in the middle of it. I pulled that plug and used contact cleaner from my local parts store and cleaned it and I haven't had a problem with it since. Good Luck
