New Brakes
It is about time for some new front brakes on my truck. Usually I would just go to Autozone and buy some pads and put them on. But the pads they sell put so much dust on my wheels that I was wondering if there are any brands that you have had luck with that perform well and don't leave so much brake dust on the wheels. So, if you have a brand or a website that you have had a good expereince with, let me know. Thanks.
donkey *****. thats funny. in spite of the donkey ***** i usually use AZ stuff with the lifetime warranty - pay for them once and you've got parts for life. on my old chevy i got 2 and 3 set of many parts over about 20 years including starters, brakes, alternators, etc. ok, so i'm cheap. i just can't see paying 2 -3 - 4 times AZ price for someone else's parts unless they also have lifetime warranty. then its ok.
I was going to try AZ's Morse-ceramic pads this weekend. I put ceramic's on my old car and my wifes van, and I like them. never tried the Morse brand though, i've used napa on my old taurus, and Satisfied Pro on the van.
I have the Duralast Gold pads fron AZ with Lifetime Warranty and they last over 6 months, considering I drive over 1,000 miles a month.
I also have slotted drilled rotors on the front I found on E-Bay for $125

Don't get DuraKrap parts. Period. They're garbage. I've had good luck with the mid to higher end pads from Checker and Napa. I'll never buy another part from AutoBlown again. I've heard the Green Stuff pads aren't as good as they're cracked up to be. A lot ofdust from them. Someone recommended Hawk but I don't know anyone that has used them.

I have been running Akebono cermaic pads for several years now, and they are great. Ceramic pads leave virtually no brake dust, unlike metallics or even semi metallics. And they dissipate heat better then metallic pads.
