Speaker Installation?
So I've found instructions on how to get the door panels off of my 97' Ram, but I have the non-power windows. Does anyone know how the window handle comes off? I know with my Ranger I needed to get a torx bit to take it off. Does it just pop off when I take the panel off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are three parts of the window handle. There is the regulator, a foam washer thing, and a plastic ring. In between the regulator and the ring you should see a little clip. Push in on the the door panel a bit and pull on the regulator to give yourself a little room. Then pop out the clip with a flathead screwdriver. (Do this in a garage because some times the clip will fly off at about mach 3). The window handle has to come off as well as the three screws in the door panel before it will come off. Then the panel should just pop off with a little effort. It sounds like your breaking it, but that's just the plastic clips coming out. Now just put your new speakers in and reverse the whole process. Line the panel back up and push is on. The clips should just go back in the original holes.(Don't worry if you destroyed some of the clips, just rearrange them so that the door panel will stay on securely.) Put the three screws back in and the put the window handle back on. Putting the handle back on will be the hardest part. If you get confused on how it goes on just look at the other door. It also helps a lot to have someone to help you. Good luck and I hope you like your new speakers.

to get the the manual window handle off, i used a stiff piece of wire about 6 inches long, and bend a 90* turn on one end thats only about 1/8 in long on the bend. push in on the panel and pull out on the handle and locate the little clip. catch it with the wire and give it a sharp yank. it does come out at mach 3 so listen carefully for the little 'ding' sound of where it lands, generally far away. see pics of everything in the thread above.
