Default NEED HELP... truck running rough when first started

My truck is running really rough when i start it up, the rpm gauge starts really low then it shifts up higher, also burning alot more fuel, could somebody give me any info on what this could be.

The truck is a 2001 ram 1500 4x4 5.2L

1st thing I would check is the IAC on the back of the throttle body. Take it off and give it a good cleaning with some brake parts cleaner and a toothbrush. Also, clean inside the bore that it came out of. And if you really want to do a bang up job, take the whole TB off and clean it the same way. If that wasn't your problem at least you know the intake is clean and it only costs a buck or two for a new gasket. Also, test the IAC while you're at it to see if it moves when you energize it
WC.
