Default air condition

Hey, I was wondering, is it normal for a 97 dodge rams airconditioner to blow air out normal, but when you accelerate it sounds like something inside closes and it starts blowing out of the defrost vents, then when you let off the gas it sounds like something fell open and it starts blowing out normal again? Thanks.

Default RE: air condition

There are two vacuum check valves in the vacuum lines under the hood near the bulkhead/firewall on the passenger side. Those usually go bad and cause the problem you are having. If you disconnect them you should beable to blow air through them one way but not the other.
