Default MAJOR FRAM OIL FILTER PROBLEM

So had someburning coming from under the truck... Finally found out what it was, the "Easy Grip" black plastic on the fram oil filter was burning since on my 98 ram its so close to the pipes/header. If you are using this type of filter check it ASAP!!!

Bah, thats b/c its a chevy.

IMO Fram's are ****. I use OEM filters, or Napa gold's, made by Wix.

Talkin about frams i did my first oil change on a truck today. Used to do it all the time on my 96 maxima. Thought everything went good until i started it up. Oil started to POUR from the filter. Couldnt figure out what was happening until i took off the filter. Well the gasket from the old filter stuck to the truck and I couldnt see it so the new oil filter wouldnt screw in all the way. My fault but i thought i would share the lesson i learned today. Always check for the gasket!!!

Here, check out

This is a wonderful study and perfect arguement against Fram. I have always used Purolator Pure One or Wix gold filters.
