have a look at this thread
https://dodgeforum.com/m_292535/tm.htm
you can get the build sheet for your truck and it will tell you exactley what geat/axles you have
mostlikey D60's with a 3.55 gear ratio thow (unless its an offroad edtion then ittl have 4.10)
as for mods...the list is endless, just have a look at some pepoles sig. and see what they did

look into an exhaust, highflow cat, headers, programmer, cia, those are the simplest bolt ons. As for the axles. probably dana 60's front and rear. For the gear ratios, could have 3.55 or 4.10's, but not becuase it's an offroad edition..(Off road editions were only made in the 1500's and had 4.10 gears in a chrysler 9.25)...just do a quick search and you'll find tons of info on upgrades for that good old 5.9

In model year 1995
there were two versions of the 360 V8
a 'light duty' Magnum 5.9V8 with a Z in the VIN number
and a 'heavy duty' 5.9V8
with a belt driven air pump
twin catalytic converters merging into a single larger muffler.

Find out which of the V8s you actually have
so as to avoid part number problems
as you fix the truck up.
