Default Side Windows Louvers

I had to remove my driver's side louver as the passenger side has been missing for a while. Now I am left with the outline of where the 3M tape has been. I have washed, scrubed, scraped, and used De-solvent (a citrus based solvent) and CANNOT remove the residue. All of the tape has been removed, but I can see where the tape has been. It appears the only solution is to buy new louvers unless I can clean the windows...

Does anyone have a solution on how to fix this?? [sm=feedback.gif]

Goo-Gone, paint thinner, acetone, or WD-40. Perhaps glass polish.

go to a body shop or somewhere that sells autobody supplys there is a little rubber wheel you can get (its made by 3M) that goes into a drill then you rub it where the tape was and it will remove all the residue and blend it in, at work we call them magic erasers i dont think thats the real name thow, ive never tryed them on glass but thay work great on body pannels, if you think a wondow loover is bad, try removing a whole rocker pannel kit...yah thats fun

oh and a tip dont stay in one spot with it on the body if you do you can wreck the clear coat because the wheel gets hot from the friction

I finally gave up on removing the tape residue and installed new louvers.. NOW I have one of them slightly crooked!

How can I safely remove the misalighned one without damaging it, and remove and replace the 3M tape on the back of the louver??

if you can get your hands on Varn Wash V-120 it take anything off of the paint. it doesn't hurt the paint either
it is what we use to take ink off of the printing presses when we clean them up.
i dont know if you could findit; if you can it is the best stuff ever.
