P1693 Is the error code. I don't know how to correct this problem. Can anyone help?

P1693 (M) DTC Detected In Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine control module.
P1693 (M) DTC Detected In PCM/ECM Or DTC Detected In ECM A "Companion DTC" was set in both ECM and PCM

This is what my 01 truck did. Had to replace the fuel injector pump. Currently arguing with Chrysler about warranty coverage. Search internet on VP44 injector pump reliability, there is quite a bit out there, check out turbodieselregister.com. My truck has more power and better mileage now with the new pump. But I had to replace it at 98K, not happy about that at all. If your truck has less than 136K check your owners manual for wording that the cummins diesel engine BEGINS at the END of the basic warranty. When you cycle thru the ignition error codes, give it time for them all, 1693 means there is one, so wait longer and see if you get P0216. Also heard, after I replaced mine, that letting off the gas pedal to idle could reset the pump. Letting off the accelerator is the last thing you think of when its slowing down as you floor it. Please check out your fuel injector pump, we got the easy warnings, but there are stories out there of losing power while towing on interstate highways. Please keep in touch I want Chrysler to pay for these pump replacements.
