The compressor has a oil fill hole on it. You sure I put that in after I vacuum it? I didn't know that.

I've got the dash all back together and everything on the interior back together just waiting for parts like oil and a a/c line then hopefully I can finish this thing up.

Do you still have the old compressor? If you do, you need to drain and measure how much oil is in it. Now take the new one and drain it into a clean container and put back in the same amount that was in the old one. Put everything back together , and after you evac. the system add 4 oz. of oil through the low side port. At this point you will have or should have vacuum in the system and it will suck the oil in.

Ok thanks. I drained the old compressor and nothing came out so I'm not exactly sure what to do here from that.

Well the new one comes with oil in it. It should say in the directions how much. BTW, did you find the old evap. core to have a leak? You need to know how much oil is in the new one. The whole system holds 8.1 oz . Subtract whats in the new one from that, Since we dont know how much is in the condensor which holds 1 oz , just add another oz to the figure and put that amount in after the evac like I said.

Anyone know what the correct R134A level is? I filled it up until I have 32-33psi on the low side. I have pretty good A/C it seems now just wanted to make sure that was enough. My cheapo gauge. Not the one I was using but another I have says anywhere from 25-45psi is good. Lower is too low and higher it has too much. So I'm in the middle there but wondering if I should add a little more or anything. My A/C seems to be working though.

Nevermind. Found my own answer. I need to be checking it on the high side and it should be between 225-300. That's what I found anyway. Sound about right?

There's a fill curve in the FSM that's based on ambient temperature. Use that.

When it says ambient temp. is it talking about the temp. outside or the temp in the vents?

Ambient means outside temp. And the system holds 32oz. of 134a.

So how did it go? Or are you still waiting for parts?
