Default Cam help?

I have a 2001 Ram 1500 Sport with a 5 speed, the only performance mods are a K&N CAI, MSD Wires, 3.5" flowmaster exhaust, Hypertech programmer, and an AirRaid Throttle body spacer. I have been thinking about putting a cam and MAYBE a set of heads on it but im not sure what will be a good combination that wont make the truck run like crap. I have looked at some Lunati cams but i think so far i like the mopar performance purple shaft cam (PN# 312P4120233). If anyone has any experience or any ideas Ill appreciate the help!

Assuming that you have a 5.9, KRC210x all the way. I ran a Hughes 1828 that sucked. There are alot of guys running the 210x that love it. If you have a 5.2 the KRC206x is a good choice. They are basically Comp grinds, but on a 110* instead of a 112*.

For heads, the Hughes Iron heads are good. They flow nearly as well as the Eddy aluminum heads, are cheaper and will last longer. If you're going to run a cam, go with the 2.02's, and get atleast the stage 1 porting:

If I dont decide to put heads on it right away, what would i need to make the 210x work with the stock heads? OR would i be better off with the 206x?

On a 318, I would go with the 206x either way. Also, you may want to call Hughes for a reccomendation on the valve size. When I said 2.02's, I was thinking 360/210x.

Ive been thinking about taking the spacer off because with that intake i had to really wrestle with it to get it back on the throttle body and it rubs the top of the firewall....

I know this is an old thread but I am thinking about a heads/cam setup too. Will the KRC 210X work well with these heads even though they recommend a cam with .550" lift? If I am reading the cam specs correctly, the 210X has .512" lift.

Also, which spring kit should I get out of these three?

Thanks.

Nevermind, I started my own thread.
