new to 2nd Gen Dodge forum.
Hello yall. I've read a lot on here the past few days and Irealized that there are so many different options for truck as far as buying them from factory and such as well as what you can put on them aftermarket wise. This is what my build sheet says I have. Can yall tell me what I have such as towing package (which I know I have LOL), offroad pkg, ect. I don't have any pictures yet. I will post some over the weekend. Anyways, this is what I've got.
By the way, I just bought this truck last friday with 77k miles for 12k. Its a one owner and never been wrecked.
Mytruck is a 2000 Dodge Ram sport Quad Cab 4x4 and its black.

okay, so the most important things that this thing says you have that will be most benificail (sp?) is a 5.9 v8, 46re auto trans, 3.55 gear ratio, limited slip differentail. infinity sound system, d44 front axle, chrysler 9.25 rear axle. and it's not an offroad edition...yet
It is worth reading over the TSB's for your model year Ram:
https://dodgeforum.com/m_639375/tm.htm
A friendly Dodge dealership should be willing to
print out for you the repair work that has been
done at a dealership on your truck
The 46RE automatic trans has caused other Ram owners
some expensive repairs. it might be a good investment
to drop the pan, change the filter, and closely examine
any metal filings at the bottom of the pan. Doing an
8 quart change by loosening the valve body bolts or
the return cooler line should be considered. The idea here
is to be sure that if the previous owner added Dextron
ATF some time in the past, it is now replaced.
At 77K you might also consider begining oil analysis on the ATF
using a company like Blackstone labs as a method of
catching trans problems early.
Learn how to manually adjust the rear star wheel
Enjoy your truck.

Thanks fellas for the info. I figured I would need to have ATF changed along with filter. I usaully do that around 70k miles. Anyways, I'm lookin' for some floor mats that will fit the front and rear floor boards.I'm also wanting to put on some side step rails. What do yall recommend? Also,do yall recommend the superchips truck programer? Thanks.
your rear brakes are drum style, with an adjusting wheel and an automatic adjusting system that doesn't work. if you've never seen them it would be useful to remove the rear wheel and drum and look at how it works - then put the drum and wheel back on. then remove the rubber plug on the back side and manually adjust the rear brakes occasionally to keep them tight. to adjust - tighten the star wheel such that you get braking resistence and scaping noise, then loosen it just to where it stops scraping. note that when the shoes are adjusted tight you may not be able to get the drum on/off and may have to loosen it up to get the shoes out of the way.
oh, I thought the rear star wheel had something to do with the auto trans. Thanks for the adjustment procedure!
I am very familiar with rear brakes. Is the auto adjust problem like the plenum leaking, it only happens on some trucks?
