Default Grrr....what a pain in the butt

Well some of you know I was having problems with the gauges and the tail lights. Well I went and got the truck from my fiance today and put some new fuses in it...the gauges worked...the tail lights worked and the gauge lights worked....well I blew another fuse to the gauge lights and the tail lights. I also noticed that my interior lights were now staying on. there was a lil bit of smoke before the fuses blew. I havent tried to change the fuses again yet. I pulled the interior fuse under the hood....so thats off for now. Any ideas?

bad wire somewhere. Where was the smoke coming from.Reading your last post, Im assuming your talking a 95 1500. My fathers 95 2500 had a similar problem. I was driving it and i had the lights on and the dash started smoking. turned the lights off, smoke stoped. didn't blow any fuses tho. Changed the switch and everything was better. But dont know where the smoke was coming from so im not sure this will even help ya.

Something is shorting out in the dash. Do you have an aftermarket head unit? If you do pull it out and check ALL the connections. I was having the same problem blowing fuses and it was right after I took my head unit out and screwed with it.

Turned out one of the wires was barally showing and was shorting out.

Well i started pulling it apart tonight...and found a bunch of wires fried. I started to replace them and it got dark so i stopped. Im gonna take it to a local mechanic i know and see if he will do it.
