My father in law has a 96 ram 1500 2wd w/ 318. He want to put dual exhaust on it, but he wants to run new pipe from the header through turbo style mufflers with out using a cat. I believe that there is an O2 sensor after the cat, if he runs his exhaust this way what can be done to fool the computer that the o2 sensor still exists??

 

usually a resistor will do the trick..... unfortunately I don't have the values.... I did have them for GM trucks but no Dodge's....

 

where would the resistor go? I am not familiar with this concept..

 

If you look in the Summit Racing catalogue in the truck section, youll see a plug -in module that fools the O2 sensor when exhaust mods are performed. The Jegs catalogue might have it also.
