V10 Steering Issues
My dad has a 2001 4x4 2500 with the V10. The truck has less than 50k miles and has been to the dealership as well as multiple friends and mechanics. Always with the same result, the steeringhas a lot of play, and the truck doesnot track very well at all. Most guys I've talked to have said that because of the size of the V10 the steering shaft wasredesigned and the truck wanders all over the road, but does anyone know of a trick or an aftermarket steering shaft that fixes this?
I seem to remember seeing a post about this a few months ago, but of courseI can't find it now.
All the ball joints up front have been replaced, and thealignment has been checked multiple timesat LesSchwab and the dealership. Even with all this andnew tires it stillwanders all over the place.
Any advice or tips?

Did you check the track bar? Very comman in Rams. Also how a bout an after market Steering stabilizer like rancho or trail master. I would also check the box I know that the steering box is the week link but I'm suprized the dealer hasn't check this all out.
Steering issue are notonly with the v10s. I agree its the trackbar. Dodge fixed this with the 2003+ models. But for earlier models, check out www.solidsteel.ca. This is a Canadian manufacture that makes a bracket that allows you to use the 2003+ Dodge pickup track bar. Believe me, it works. I use to get the same thing. And also it bump steered. But no more. Its great.
could also be in the steering box its self, here is a thread on how to tighten up the steering box
