Its that time again...I need to replace the plugs and wires on my truck (see sig). I want to hear from you as to what's on your truck and what you have had a bad experience with. The last time I just replaced the plugs with the factory Champion ones. Hughes has a set of Accel plugs, wires (pre-cut to length), rotor, and cap for a decent price that I'm considering.

Ultimately, I know it's not going to increase power but I don't want to buy something that is going to cause problems or need replacing soon...I really hate working in the back of the engine compartment, my abs hurt for weeks from all the leaning.

I use NGK plugs and you could go with some MSD wires(only because I dislike Accel after multiple problems). A friend of mine makes a good wire for race/pro-street/older motors, called Fyrewires. I don't know howwell they would work for the newer/daily drivers. They have been tested and shown they do work wonders though.

This time around for my tune-up I went with Summit's brand for the cap/rotor and wires. The spark plugs are Champion truck plugs. So far I am happy with the products so far. I was kind of leary of using Summit's brand but no problems so far.

I went with the Champion platinum plugs that Dodge uses in everything they build. I also did a comparison of plug wires. Found a set up at one of the parts stores that used plug wires to transfer power to a light source. Believe it or not the Orielly Auto Partshigh end brand out performed the MSD and Excell wires. The light was twice as bright. I much rather pay thirty dollars for a set of wires than what thePERFORMANCE names want. Could tell a difference right off. Better plugs and a excellent set of wires.

I went a little less crazy with my wires and plugs.

Autolite plugs, B/W Cap, Rotor, Wires

Nothing but good things to say about this combination.
