Default rear brake adjustment...

sup guys just did my rear brakes, and need to adjust them a little, does anyone know if loosen is up or down when turning the adjustment??

I think it is up on the left rear and down on the right rear. I can never remember but I think that's what it is. Just give one a few turns and see if it makes it any easier to move the drum.

Don't wanna sound like a dud, but wouldn't reccomend that - they adjust themselves tighter but not looser. If you over tighten one it will just wearthe padsdown until the other catches up. What I do for new drum brakes is tighten the star adjuster (with wheels on and up on jacks so you can spin the wheel) until I hear it drag then back it down 3 clicks. Good starting point.

If im not mistaken aint these self adjusting ? like most ? if so drive reverse hit the brakes and you will hear em click (adjust)...mite need to do this a few times.

Yes, but they only adjust one way - tighter - as your brakes wear.

right im aware of all this, right now they are too tight, i need to loosen them not tighten.
