possible stuck thermostat
hi i have noticed that it takes my truck a rather long time to hit the 190* mark. from when i start the thing i drive down 1 mile of stoplights then merge onto a freeway and after another 5 miles of driving it finally reaches the 190 mark. i think this is rather long for it being 65* in the morning when i wake up for work. anyways just wondering if this seems like a long time for the coolant to heat up? thanks

It is pretty common for the factory Ram thermostat
a Robertshaw/Siebe unit with brass underarms and steel upper body
to develop a crack in one of the brass underarms
that allows the thermostat to stay partly open.
