Default possible stuck thermostat

hi i have noticed that it takes my truck a rather long time to hit the 190* mark. from when i start the thing i drive down 1 mile of stoplights then merge onto a freeway and after another 5 miles of driving it finally reaches the 190 mark. i think this is rather long for it being 65* in the morning when i wake up for work. anyways just wondering if this seems like a long time for the coolant to heat up? thanks

Could be a partially stuck thermostat. So change it $5 at a parts store and 30 mins of your time. Go for it!

With the engine cold remove the hose and look to see if it is open.

It is pretty common for the factory Ram thermostat
a Robertshaw/Siebe unit with brass underarms and steel upper body
to develop a crack in one of the brass underarms
that allows the thermostat to stay partly open.
