Okay guys, I need help. '98 Dodge Ram 2500 V8 gas 98,000 mi. When I turn the key on (not to start) there is a low pitched noise (sounds like a low pitched whoopee cushion) that lasts for a few seconds under the hood and then it stops. I also have a hard starting problem - 5-10 seconds. Runs like top once it's started. Any ideas?

This has got me curious... the sound like air being released? Whoopee cushion makes a flapping noise, right?

 

Yep, like air being released. Like a balloon only very low pitched for a second or two.

 

fuel pump mite be going out...

 

The noise sounds like it is under the hood driver's side.
