Default tranny ?

Recently ive noticed that when in overdrive the engine speed will increase a couple of hundred rpms then go to normal when driving a constant speed on a flat road it does this constantly. It only does this in OD. Out of OD there doesnt seem to be a problem (no slip). The tranny was rebuilt at about a 105K. its at about 130K now. The truck is a 96 BR150 4X4 with a 360 and 46RE tranny. Has anyone else had the same type of problem or have any ideas as to what the problem could be? Oh before i forget, the tranny shifts great with no hesitation from P to D and into R. and shifts solidly thru the gears. Any ideas are greatly apprciated! thanks everyone.

Mine does the SAME thing....and I also just had mine rebuilt, but I don't think that has anything to do with the problem. But mines in the shop being checked over under warranty as we speak....So I'll let you know if I find anything out.

I ordered a TPS from the dealer today, should be in tomorrow. I checked the old one with an ohm meter and it seems to be linear (no dead spots). Will try the new one and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the reply Cmares. Rammin what did they find out with yours?

Well I changed out the TPS and took it for a drive. The first thing that I noticed was that the Cruise control no longer lurched the truck forward slightly when it was engaged. it now takes over smoothly again. And perhaps the best of all the tranny is working like it should again....knock on wood Again thanks for the reply cmares! Rammin let me know if thats what the problem turns out to be on your truck.
