rear leaf springs squeak
I have been noticing squeaking coming from the rear of the truck and I think i have narrowed it down to the leaf springs. I have a few questions about this (all info in sig)
[ol][*]How to take off the rear lef spring...it looks like the bolt towards the front of the truck is going to hit the frame when trying to remove it.[*]Is there a way to get them to stop squeaking without replacing them?[*]I pull a 19'boat every weekend about a 100 miles should I go with 2500 springs in the rear?[/ol]
Any input on this is appreciated...thanks guys

There is a tsb on this. You don't have to remove the springs to do it. It takes 30 min. and not a lot of cash (don' remember how much so it must have been cheap). I will find it and post back.
yeah I found that post throgh a google search but not through the search in the forum...good info and a good write up....you should put it in the DIY stuff steve05ram360 is putting together
Thanks

I did that service bulletin and it stopped he squeak completely. Did it in about 30 mins, that was taking my time, i'm sure you can do it in about 15 mins if you wanted to
Well I did it the poor man way.
Just pry the leafs apart a little bit and I injected a really good grease (marine type) that can withstand water.
I used a hypo-needle grease fitting that attaches to the gease gun.
The squeak may come back within the year but it only takes a few minutes per side to re-do it.
