hey guys i found this site about ten mins ago and i had to sign up i already learned where the oil started going from my 5.9. my problem is i have a vacume leak some where it is noticable when i accelerate i can hear it (sucking) and the truck has a hesitation when i floor it because of this leak i think it had a good tune up 2 months ago and they told me then they couldnt find the leak can you help??
Record Breaker
below the TB is the keg (manifold) you got 2 vacume ports 2 on the right 2 on the left side make sure the hose are connected or pluged...on the driver side should be a hose going to the power brake , on the pass side should be going the pvc valve , on the same side should be vacume hose going to it.. Now this is going off on my 96 your hook ups mite differ but make sure those are pluged or being used.. next do you have a gasket on top of the TB and air cleaner ? next is do you have AC ? , cruise control ? thats another way finding out you have a vacume leak..

the sucking sound you hear is coming from a weak seal on the TB hat...
if your loosing oil somewhere and cant see it in the exhaust, you could have a blown plenum gasket... when you have the TB hat off, take off the TB and look down into the intake manifold. if there is any oil pooling on the bottom then itis leaking, a light film is normal, pooling is not. you will need to use a mirror & flashlight to check the corners. this is a common problem with the magnum motors...
