alrighty so i fueled up my truck today, fuel light had just came on fulled it right up went in and payed came out started the truck up and the gauge dident move still just above E so i shut it off and started it up a cupple times and nothing so i went under there and beat on the tank with my hand got back in the truck started it up and there it was on F so question is was the sending unit just stuck at the bottem and this was a random thing or is this something worse

2 things i can think of...
1. yes, the sending unit was stuck at the bottom and it might not happen again.
2. the wiring is bad (maybe a loose connection) and by hitting it it made a good contact.
