Default Truck wont go into park!!

ive been having this problem for some time now and its just starting to **** me off. almost every time i put my truck into park it doesnt fully engage. its like its half way between P and R. i have to use my e brake every time i park or ittl roll. and i usually have to put it in N to start it. I dont think its the tranny, being it was just rebuilt last year. any ideas?

all you should have to do is adjust your shifter linkage. It's the linkage that goes from the steeringwheel down the firewall. What i did to adjust it was 1)block the tires, and or parking brake
2)loosen bolt at the bottem of the linkage by the spring
3)put the trans into park manually at the trans linkage on the trans
4)put the shifter in park inside the cab(the shifter on the steering wheel)
5)tighten bolt down
6) test drive vehicle
7)not necessary but fun...do burnout..lol jk

I think number 7 is the most needed one of all of the steps. you have to...ummmm....make sure the tranny wont slip, right. yah thats it. no slipping of the tranny. need to check it...lol... thats what i would tell the cop at least.
