my front left tire (drivers side) has started squeeking and its only gettin worse. occasionally there sounds like some grinding. anyone have any idea what this is?

 

wheel bearing or the universal.

 

I had the passenger side bearing go out a year ago, started w/ faint cadenced sound on hard turns, then all turns, and finally even straight on driving. It always changed cadence with speed. Does your problem change with speed or is it constant cadence/pitch?

 

its like a grinding now. i took it up to the local rip you off shop and they said it was the bearing assembly. wanted to charge me 350 dollars for a 140 dollar part. so thats where im at now. man i wish i had a lift at the house i could do the labor myself...

 

dude.. get a 30.00 floor jack.. jack it up.. and replace the bearing

 

if i didnt live on a hill and my truck wasnt so damn tall i would... but it got it replaced today. 300 for the bearing assembly, 105 for the labor. RAPED.
