cat converter air tube

Default cat converter air tube

im new to this forum and to rams. i just got a 96 5.9 2wd. its leaking exhaust out the air tube on the bottom of the cat. i cant find anything thats suposed to hook to the air tube. what should i do? someone told me to just pinch it shut, but i dont know. thanks

the only tube on mine is the tube that is the hanger thats welded to it. That i can think of at least. I will take a look at mine and get back to ya. but i dont think it has one.

Hey guys that sounds like the tube found on some GM vehicles with the air pump.

UP_ URSLF you may have aftermarket cat. or what you would call a universal cat.

yeah, i think its an aftermarket one. the welds on the exhaust show that it has been worked on. it was stopped up and exhaust was blowin out that tube. i pinched it off and gutted the cat. now it has twice as much power. just a thought, maybe that tube had a cap on it and it blows off when the cat gets stopped up so it dont mess up the motor??

we'll heres what a stock ct converter loks like, minus the big access hole we cut in it. but yeah no tubes here.
