Hello - Brand new to the Forum. Just bought a 2001 1500 Quad Cab with 118K on it a couple of weeks ago. Three days after I bought it - it started running a little rough. Long story short : had to replace both cylinder heads. Fortunately Idid the work myself and the guy I bought it from helped pay for the repair. But a question : after the repair was completed , I have a sloshing noise from the dash area. I think it's an air pocket in the heater core, but anyone heard this before ? I am planning on doing the jack the front up and attempt to bleed it but was just curious if any other ideas.

after replacing wp and hoses mine did that for about a week and gradually got quieter and then quit. make sure your coolant overflow has plenty of fluid in it so it can purge air and suck in fluid. i drilled the 1/8 hole in the thermostat. don't know if that helped or not.

Sorry - I didn't realize this post had gotten so old. But if anyone is interested : I used the Lisle funnel kit and it seems to have solved the problem. Basically it just lets you run the engine for a long time without making a big mess. Oh, I also jacked the front of the truck up while letting it bleed air.

thats how i got my air pocket out.. with the small hole drilled into the stat and drove the front of the truck on some ramps and let it run with the cap off and a full overflow.. worked really well.. i cycled the motor on and off a bunch of times.. try to jolt the air pocket loose and the vibration of the motorstarting ..i think it helped...
