Default Trannsmission Pan

Went under the truck yesterday to do an oil change and noticed something bad. I know my tranny was dripping a little fluid (1 quart per 3-4000 miles) I thought the pan gasket was the problem. While under there i noticed that the pan gasket was leaking a little but i had a crack in the side of the pan (also leaking a little). Before the crack stops dripping and starts pouring out i need to replace it. My questions are:

1) What brand should i go with? I dont want a stock one, I want an aftermarket w/ higher capacity.

2) How can i flush the tranny myself? I want to replace the current fluid w/ synthetic but dont know how to get all the old fluid out. is it something i can do or do i need a shop to do it?

2001 Ram 2500 4x4 w/ 360 and a 46RE tranny.

Then add some cheap fluid to top it off then go get it flushed adding your desired syn.

Yes, get an aftermarket one, preferably with a drain plug and cooling fins. Extra capacity is good too. Can't give a specific brand, maybe someone else will be along with that reco. Or, do a search on your favorite search engine to see what's out there.
Flushing is do-able but, having a 2001 you should already have +4 in it which is synthetic.
To flush: As long as the system is low, get some SeaFoam trans. flush in there 1st. Make sure it's "transmission flush" and NOT the induction cleaner stuff. Follow instructems and run it through the system. Then disconnect the RETURN cooling line at the Transmission and point it into a large container (at least 3 gal capacity). I use a cement mixing plastic pan from the home center (about $5).
Start the engine and let the fluid drain into the container till it starts to sputter. Then stop the engine. You will have gotten most of the fluid out except for some in the Torque Converter. (sorry, no way to drain it completely without removal).Replace the line and drop the pan. It won't be messy like dropping a full one-it's empty! Replace the filt.and pan. Adjust your bands and refill.

I believe you are supposed to adjust the bands at this time as well. I think there's a DIY write-up posted somewhere.
