Customizing tail gate latch

Has anyone seen a source for a way to move the tailgate latch to the inside of the tailgate? I would even consider a remote opening to allow me to remove exisitng latch. Also is it hard to install automatic door locks on a two door truck with manuel locks? Thanks for your help!!
