Default 100 degrees = loud engine

Ok, never fails, every single time its over 100 outside my engine is really loud. It doesnt appear to behave any differently, or run any hotter, but it is certainly much louder and rougher sounding.

Anybody else have this issue, is it normal?

Thanks, great forum, ive learned alot already.

By louder do you mean the sound coming from the exhaust or louder has to do with something in the engine compartment? If you just mean the exhaust sound seems louder or rougher that is normal. Remember, air temperature plays a part in how your exhaust will sound. In winter here in Wisconsin my exhaust sounds much more crisp and tight do to the cold air. When it is summertime here ( which it is now ) my exhaust sounds much more muffled or rough sounding do to the warmer air.

Sound waves travel faster and closer together in cold air temperature versus slower and further apart in warm air temperatures. Its been a long tiem since science class but that is what I remember, I hope I got it right. hehe
