Default Time to Fix some issues

Ok soo now that ive goten a few pay checks sittin around i think its time i spend some money on my 94 ram 1500. Ive got a couple of issues that i think i know a potential answer but just wanted to see what some of you think.

First off. At highway speeds i can barly hold 70mph on a slight incline. Ive heard that it could be tps sensor. what other things might cause this lack of power.

Secondly. when im going slow around town. say around 30 mph and i let off the gas. i hear a light clunk from what seems like right under me. Im thinking its the splines on the outputshaft of the trany. what should i do to lube that up. and is the clunk hurting anything.

OK and finaly the one thats realy worring me. In the mornning when i start the truck for the first time let it warm up for a min or two. take off for work and have zero power. the only way i can explain it is it feels boged down. the engine sounds different too. almost hollow. rpm responce is the same. but no acceleration it lasts less then a min. and then is fine after starting warm.

This is alot to ask but i want to save some money if its stuff i can fix my self. Thanks for any help.

Doubt its the splines, more likely the driveshaft u-joints. Easy to check, fairly easy to replace. U got 2 or 4WD?

Sounds like you may have a clogged cat. I would start there.

i agree with bot atcsat64 and 95ramdan. i would say the power issue is a clogged cat and i bet the cluncking is the u joints. crawl under the truck and rock the drive shaft. look for play in the u joint. i bet its that. to check the cat just hit it w/ your palm. if it rattles its bad. another wat to check is w/ a temp guage. good luck

i have the same cluck.. mine is due to my pinion bearing is tore to shredds and the pinion is floating off the ring. it also caused the pinion seal to blow which i was able to replace, but the other parts are too expensive so im just waiting until i find a whole new rear axle(actualy until i have the money for one).

wow you guys did great... U joints would make sence.. i have a decent amount of stearing play. As for a pluged cat, cant you take an o2 sensor out behind the cat. to realeave back presure. As a check of course not a fix.

some specs on the truck

1994 dodge ram 1500 4wd
