Lucky Loaded Owners
I was at the dealer today and they had a 2001 Dark Green 4WD Quad Cab Sport 5.9L. It had some 305 MTR's on it and was pretty clean. This truck was loaded with power heated leather, the nice wood dash. All I have to say is that you guys out there with these nice loaded trucks are lucky. I love my truck and what not, but the standard multi colored seats are a little funky. At least they're comfortable.
Tell you what though, I still like the 2nd gen Dodges with the front straight axle. It's pretty cool having the last half ton front straight axle truck. Even though IFS may ride better, the straight axle handles like a truck and is very durable. I like watching these trucks corner at high speeds and seeing the front tires staying nice and square and not leaning like IFS does. The 2001 sport at the dealer really stood out from the new 3rd gen Rams. I know when I get out of college I'll get a new Ram, but right now I have a blast with mine. That just means when I get a new truck, I'll have to keep mine and lift it and have even more fun!

i'll give another opinion.. i've got a buddy with a cabin up in the mountains that's on the edge of a big national forest. his cabin is 10 miles off the paved road, all but the last 1/2 mile is forest service road. about 7 miles of that is maintained fairly well (for forest service roads) and the last 2 or 3 miles are pretty rough. we drive in/out a good bit and then drive all over the national forest on the main roads. im my 01 it will absolutely beat you to death. nobody in my truck can drink a beer, and my neck even hurts from all the bouncing around. last trip up we went out one day in another guys 02 or 03 or so ford truck, 4 wd with IFS and ext cab. i drove while everybody else drank. all i can say is WOW, what a smooth riding truck.. nothing like mine at all. i drove much much faster than anyone could ever tolerate in mine, and they drank beer all the way without breaking a tooth or spilling it everywhere, which is what would happen in mine. i was about ready to trade...
