i have a 2001 dodge 2500 4x4 sith 8 lug nuts on each tire and 3 inch leaf springs. please help!

yeah your wrong, there are hd and non hd 2500's for instance the front brake rotors on a 2500 hd are like 15 pounds heavier then the non hd.

 

They only made Light Duty 2500s in 94 and 95. They're all heavy duty after that I believe.

 

my 95 is a hd. if you want to get technical the govt classifies 1500's as the limit for ld. 2500 and higher is hd.

 

and yes your truck sounds hd.

 

Well they always made 2500 HDs but i'm pretty sure 2500 Light Dutys were only made in 94 and 95.

 

Look in your door jamb on the driverside at the sticker. If you have the 8800 GVW then that is the heavier rated 2500 (like mine is). There were also two different 360s offered in the 2500s, not sure of the difference, but the VIN number will tell you if you have the HD or LD 360. My high GVW truck is listed with the LD 360.
