Looks like I have enough wrong with my current rearend that I am going to replace the thing. I was wondering how much I could possibly find a junk yard rear for, if anyone knew. Thanks...

Whats wrong with it? Master Install Kits are under $200 and replace EVERY bearing and seal. Gears should be abel to find <$200

When I first got this truck years ago I wrecked it, and when I did I knocked off the rear passenger side wheel. Ever since then I have had a whining noise coming from the rearend. It has gotten progressively worse, and now it just sounds unsafe, and I have developed a good vibration when driving around 55 mph. If I let of the gas a bit the vibration quits.

I am just trying to figure out the besto way take care of this issue.

The axle is actually what is inside the black metal housing correct? Some of my buddies just said the hell with it just replace the whole rearend. I am open to opinions.

So I have decided the hell with it. I am going to tear down the whole rearend to figure out what is wrong with it. Before I do so I would like to figure out what all is included in a Master Rebuild Kit that you mentioned earlier. Where can I find one? Thanks

I wonder if you tweaked the axle tube when you wrecked it. Check things out real good when you pull it apart. Especially the pass. side axle shaft etc. Look on e-bay under (differential parts) in the drivetrain section, or Summit Racing to get an idea on a master kit.

You broke the axle shaft when you got in the wreck, thats why the wheel poped off. When whever fixed it they must have not replaced the bearing, thats whats probably shot.
