dashboard replacement
My neighbor and I changed mine in just under 2 hours. You have to take all the bolts out around the windshield, then you want to drop the steering column so that it sits in your seat. Remove the glove box and the passenger air bag, also remove all the screws on the front of the dash top. There are 2 bolts on the side, just beside the kickplate that are in a slotted hole. Loosen these bolts and the whole dash should tilt toward you.
Now the tricky part, there are about 8 screws that hold the dash to the 4 vents closest to the windshield. They are tricky to get to, but you just have to keep working at it and you will get them. (I actually ended up leaving 3 of them out on mine) I was scared it would rattle, but it doesnt. There are some screws that hold the vents on the sides on (the ones that blow on your side windows) Remove them and you are ready to take the old one out. Just put the new one in and tighten everything back down and you should be good to go.

Thanks for all the good advice.. I think I'll give it a try. How tough is it to paint a black dashboard overlay to match your interior color? Can you have someone do it for you...i.e...a paint shop?
