Default Headliner '97 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie SLT

So I am having a problem with my headliner in my '97 Dodge Ram Laramie SLT. Since the AC hasn't been working and I have had the windows down, the headliner by the driver side door has been falling down. My friend's truck had the same problem and he just bought a replacment headliner at the dealer. Is there any alternatives out there to rehang or get this fixed? Pleas help.

Thanks

If you are a DIY kinda guy you can locate your local auto upholstery supply store and they will have everything you need.

If you are lucky they will have two different thicknesses of headliner material so pick which you want. Get enough to cover your headliner and a couple cans of spray adhesive. When you get home you will need to remove the headliner shell from your truck to do the work.

Remove the headliner shell and strip off the old material. It is foam backed and the foam will stick to the shell. You need to get the foam off so use whatever means you have to scrape the old foam off. Once the shell is clean get out the spray adhesive and spray a layer of glue on the shell and the back of the new material. Let the adhesive get dry to the touch, very slightly tacky. Hold the material so that it is folded loosely in half over the shell and set it down lightly. Use your hand to smooth the material down from the middle out. Do not stretch the material any more than absolutely necessary to conform to the contours. If it is stretched too tightly it will come loose again and you get to do it all over again! After you get the material smoothed over the entire shell, turn it over on a clean surface and trim the edges so you have a 1-2 inch overlap and spray adhesive around the back edge so you can stick it down as well. Reinstall the newly recovered headliner and you're done!

Or you could just do what I did and use brads to hold the ragged loose old material in place because I'm too damn lazy to fix it the right way! LOL!
