Default MOTOR SWAP

I HAVE A 2000 RAM WITH A 5.2L V8. I WAS THINKING OF SWAPPING OVER TO A V10. IS IT WORTH MY TIME AND MONEY? IF IT'S GOING TO COST ME AS MUCH AS ANOTHER TRUCK, THEN I WILL GO FIND ONE WITH A V10 ALREADY IN IT. I JUST WANT SOME MORE POWER THAN WHAT MY 5.2 WILL HAVE TO OFFER. IF SOMEONE HAS ANY LINKS OR INFORMATION, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Dont waste your time, dealer would probably give you money to trade your truck for a V10
Last 3yrs with gas prices being where they are and the V10 lucky to get 12mpg, resale values on them has plummeted. Dealer didnt want mine for a trade on a CTD 2yrs ago so I kept it.

I don't know what all is involved in a V-10 transplant, I love mine though!

That being said though, you could probably get a 5.9 built up real nice and get the same amount of power for a lot less moneyand trouble. I swapped a 5.2 for a 5.9 in my '85 W150 a few years back and the only thing other than the engine required is a new flex plate to balance the engine. Should be the same for newer models as well if you buy a complete engine and ECM! Like mentioned above, you could probably trade your truck for a V-10 model and get cash back if you just gotta have it! I picked my '95 V-10,4X4 2500 for $3500 out the door just less than a year ago so the deals are out there. You probably couldn't get a motor/trans for that price!

I WOULD BE WILLING TO DO A 5.9 SWAP. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO FIND A 2000 SPORT FRONT CLIP. I AM HAVING LITTLE LUCK FINDING ANY PARTS IN A SALVAGE YARD. THE MOTOR IS EASY TO FIND. THE SPORT COMPONENTS IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY THOUGH.
