Default Winch mount for 2001 Ram 1500?

I have been looking w/o sucess for a mount to put a winch on my 2001 Ram 1500. (not a sport)
I would like to find a brushgaurd setup, or if I must an entire bumper, to permanently mount it.
I have seen the slid in hitch setup for the front, but I don't like it.
I am open to suggestions, even to fabbing one if someone has done that successfully.

i don't see many, if any, winch mounts that fit on top of the existing bumper. the wimpy stock bumper covers up the end of the frame, and just sort of messes up the whole idea.

you'll may have to go with a replacement bumper, something like this.

here's one winch mount, but i can't tell much from the picture.

really wouldent be hard there is room between the bumber and rad for a warn XD9000I winch its just a plate bolted to the botem of the bumper then a hole cut in the bumper for a roler fairlead

could use this http://www.warn.com/truck/mounting-s..._flatbed.shtml and mod it a bit to fit

here is a hidden mount for an 02-05 dodge might give you some ideas http://www.warn.com/truck/mounting-s...ns_dodge.shtml

I have not put a winch in mine yet, but behind the license plate is the mount on my Alien Patrol Bumper (www.alien-patrol.com). For the price of most winch mount systems, you can have a complete plate style winch bumper like mine (about $1400.00 shipped):

This is Warn's BrushGuard sytle one, its really the only brush guard type for Rams.

The Alien Patrol bumpers are awesome, they're my favorite along with Road Armor (funny they're from the same guy!)
