For sometime now, when driven agressively, the Trans Temp and overdrive off lights come on. and the overdrive will not come on.I took it to the dealer and today they told me they think the torque converter is going out and to expect at least $2400 to replace it and check out the transmission to make sure there is no damage there. There are absolutely no other driveablitly issues. The truck is an 2000 5.2 2WD Quad Cab with the optional tow package and trans cooler. I hasabout 130000 miles, the last trans service was around 90k by the dealer. The fluid level is good and the colorlooks like new fluid. The truck has pulled a trailer maybe 5 times, always with the OD off and was never driven hard with the trailer.
Any thoughts on this? Would a fluid analysis like from Blackstone tell anything?
