Default MY SEAT RATTLES

I TRIED POSTING THIS ONE IN THE INTERIOR FORUM AND GOT NOWHERE. MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT RATTLES HORRIBLY ON THE BRACKET IT SLIDES BACK AND FORTH ON. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS BY CHANCE. IT'S REALLY ANNOYING. I THOUGHT ABOUT MAYBE SWAPPING TO SOME 3RD GEN SEATS IF IT'S POSSIBLE. IF I SWAP SEATS THEN I WANT A NICE CLEAN LOOK. I WANT EVERYTHING TO LOOK LIKE IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY.

Is the track rattling within itself, or the seat on top ofthe track? Just try checking for loose bolts and tightening anylooseys you find under there.

The seat is rattling on the track. I have yet to find a loose bolt or nut. As far as i know, I am the only loose screw in the truck.

at least you found the caps lock button.

is it the front or rear of the seat that rattles. one roller may be off and it sits unbalanced

My passenger seat does the exact same thing, the rear slides back and forth slightly on the track, like it isnt latching correctly,it can be annoying at times but i have never really investigated it too hard b4.

Check the spring and latching mechanism and if that is working okroll on down to the junk yard and pickup some new seat mounts with the tracks and install them on your old seats. You could purchase just one if you want to see if that works before you go with both. I've not looked really closely, but I believe both seat mounts (pass and driver) are not side specific, you should be able to swap back and forth.

I've never heard of this particular problem before, and you've got two. hmm... defective part from the factory?

I have a 98 Durango with the drivers side power seat doing the same thing. It's in the track. This is dangerous because as you apply the brakes, seat rocks forward causing you to apply too much brake. I can't help you because I'm looking for help myself.
