Default Would this cause my truck to die?

So After changing my sparkplugs yesterday, I guess I moved something to where this wire was able to rest on the header. Well, it melted the plastic and some of the wire too! My question is, Would this cause my truck to die while driving it? Cause when I clipped the wire, my truck started. I did repair the wire and zip tie it out of the way, just curious if it did make my truck die?!?!?

yes... gives the coil the juice to fire the plugs...wire should be on the other side of the coil...

Guess those pics did not show up....but I am glad you see it!

So even if it was cut, the truck would still fire?

I think what occurred is that the wire grounded itself out preventing the truck from running. Once you cut it the ground was gone.

That looks like an add on accessory wire. does your truck have a remote starter or alarm?
Either way you should be fine just repair the wire in tie it out of the way.
